Terrazzo is a versatile product that is not only used as flooring, but also can be used as stairs, countertops, wall systems, wall base, sinks and furniture. Review design concepts, color palette, and aesthetics to determine ways to utilize terrazzo for interior spaces.

When creating a custom terrazzo sample, we recommend selecting the base color first. Some projects may need just one color, while others might incorporate several different colors. With epoxy terrazzo, the possibilities are endless with a wide range of color options. We recommend choosing a color reference from a color fan deck of any paint store to match and start the sample process.
Terrazzo epoxy colors are extremely uniform due to batch-to-batch formula consistency. No longer do we mix batch to batch in the field, mass batches are created and completed in a laboratory controlled environment. Thus, arriving at beautiful, consistent and constant resin colors. Able to patch areas much easier due to epoxy color consistencies and uniform distribution of silica free aggregates.
Cement pigment colors are generally limited to earth tones, pastels, and neutrals like whites, grays, beiges, and tans. While they can be tinted with iron ore or other pigments. However, they do not achieve the "popping" neon or deep primary colors possible with epoxy.
Cement base Terrazzo is a natural product, cement is subject to slight shade variations. Factors such as the water-to-cement ratio, ambient temperature, and humidity during the 28-day curing process can lead to non-uniformity across a large floor.
To ensure your cement terrazzo results in a beautiful, high-quality finish, we focus on rigorous pre-installation planning. Because cement is a natural, handcrafted material, "perfection" comes from managing its inherent characteristics through professional standards.

Chips are graded by number according to size in conformity with industry standards. Terrazzo is composed of #0 (1/16 Inch) through #2 size chips (1/4 Inch) and are referred to as standard. Patterns utilizing #3 (3/8 Inch) through #7 (7/8 Inch) chips are referred to as “Venetian,” originally seen in cement terrazzo systems. #00 are typically used for monochromatic subtle appearances.
Agrgegates define the color, texture, and style of terrazzo, ranging from micro to large-chip designs, with options like marble, recycled glass, mirror, mother of pearl (abalone), and granite. These materials, which constitute up to 75% of the floor's appearance, offer, along with epoxy resin, endless customization for durability and aesthetic, including sustainable, locally sourced choices.
