Terrazzo Shower Areas

Hygienic

Terrazzo’s intrinsic non-porous and seamless surface stands as a distinctive hallmark of its character. This inherent trait establishes an inhospitable environment for the proliferation of bacteria, allergens, and dust mites. As a result, poured in place terrazzo emerges as a superlative selection for environments where stringent hygiene standards are a priority.  Additionally, its innate resistance to moisture not only ensures durability but also confers immunity to the formation of mold and mildew, further augmenting its hygiene-preserving attributes. Real ”In-Situ” Terrazzo is completely seamless, eliminating grout joints which contribute the risk of  mold and water damage. Epoxy resin systems will not promote the growth of bacteria or fungus. Terrazzo epoxy matrix doesn’t contain any carbon and carbon is needed for micro-organism to grow, as a result, growth cannot be sustain.

Health

Terrazzo contributes positively to indoor air quality, as it does not off-gas volatile organic compounds(VOCs) like some other flooring materials can. This attribute is particularly important in a bathroom setting, where good air quality is essential for a healthy home environment.

Terrazzo Versatility

Accentuating Features

The use of terrazzo can also accentuate key features in a bathroom. For instance, a terrazzo floor or wall with hints of brass or gold chips can echo the hardware on cabinets and fixtures, creating a cohesive and luxurious feel.

Superior Accessibility

With a low or no threshold entrance, a terrazzo walk in shower is ideal for wheelchairs or those who need a no-step solution to get in or out of the shower. Having a built-in bench is another popular option requested in walk in showers, making it the perfect option for those who wish to gracefully age in their own home

Curb Appeal

Terrazzo’s versatility transcends the realm of flooring, extending seamlessly to applications on walls, showers, countertops, and even furniture.
